Meet the coaches on your journey

Ashequl Hoque
Asheq builds leaders who refuse the false trade-off between conviction and performance. A faith-rooted entrepreneur, operator, investor, and teacher, he has led as CEO, President, CFO, Executive Director, and Partner across technology, government services, private equity, law and nonprofit.

Asheq has built and exited companies, guided founders and executives through scale, and helped organizations surpass $100M in revenue with eight- and nine-figure exits. He understands firsthand the tensions leaders feel between mission, team, and personal worship, and he coaches people to integrate all three.

His coaching helps clients succeed without losing who they are. What sets Asheq apart is translation: he turns values into a daily operating system - clear priorities, honest feedback, disciplined calendars, and prophetic character in how work gets done. He replaces overwhelm and loneliness with cadence, clarity, and trusted counsel that deliver barakah and results.

From startup to mid-tier to enterprise - across for-profit and nonprofit - Asheq has lived the challenges and guided others through them. Participants leave with clarity they can feel, practical tools they can use today, and a path to lead and build with excellence and leave a legacy worthy of their values.

Asheq lives in Dallas with his wife and their two boys. He attended the University of Memphis (Finance), the University of Virginia School of Law, and the Duke University Fuqua School of Business. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has also studied advanced Islamic studies under traditional scholars over the last 15 years. In addition to his work at Miraj Collective, Asheq is currently the Executive Director of Qalam Institute and the Managing Partner of GuidedPath Capital.
Shaykh Mikaeel Smith
Shaykh Mikaeel Ahmed Smith is a scholar, a best-selling author, and teacher who connects classical Islamic knowledge with modern leadership and personal growth.

He is completing his Master’s in Clinical Mental Counseling at the University of West Alabama, and alongside a Master's Equivalent in Islamic Studies, has dedicated his career to helping Muslims grow professionally and spiritually.

His widely read books “With the Heart in Mind” and “When Hearing Becomes Listening” highlight how the Prophet ﷺ embodied empathy, wisdom, and emotional clarity, principles that remain relevant for modern leaders and shape Shiekh Mikaeel’s work and coaching.

With over a decade of scholarship and teaching across the United States and around the world, and alongside his work as a faculty member at Qalam Seminary, Shiekh Mikaeel has lectured and taught on a wide variety of topics, but focused on emotional and moral intelligence in Islam.

At Miraj Collective, Shaykh Mikaeel works with professionals, executives, and community leaders who want to align their faith with their leadership. His coaching helps men translate timeless Islamic principles into practical guidance, cultivate presence and authenticity, and build the inner strength to lead with purpose.
Othman Altalib
Othman helps leaders transform pressure into purpose and discomfort into growth. Raised in a family of Islamic leaders, he grew up under high expectations while wrestling with ADHD and being told he did not fit the mold. Choosing to embrace the high expectations, he graduated at the top of his class at George Mason University. He then grew to become a coach, motivational speaker, operator, strategist, and community leader that has led in high-growth environments at Fortune 100 companies, late-stage startups, and mission-driven ventures.

Othman’s career began in consulting at IBM before he joined a late-stage startup that went public and then moved to Google, where he excelled professionally and led the 3,000+ member Muslims@Google community worldwide. Living in the Bay Area exposed him to some of the most brilliant Muslims working at the highest levels, sparking a vision of what the Ummah could achieve if it built leaders grounded in faith and courage.

He later served as Chief Growth Officer at a Series A startup, where he rebuilt the company strategy, secured major Series B funding, and positioned the company for a future exit. That experience showed Othman how isolating leadership can feel when carrying the weight of responsibility alone.

In 2024, after witnessing the horrors unfolding in Palestine, Othman left corporate America and founded RYSE Coaching to help Muslim men reclaim clarity, discipline, and presence. This shared passion for coaching Muslims led to the creation of Miraj Collective with Asheq and Shaykh Mikaeel.

For two decades, Othman has delivered khutbahs across the U.S., served on boards of global Muslim organizations, and advised leaders on strategy and operational excellence. Othman is an 8x Triathlon finisher, including two Ironman 70.3. He lives in Virginia with his wife and three sons, striving to leave a legacy of strength, mercy, and prophetic leadership.
